The girls had so much fun with Grandma while Josh and I were on Vacation in D.C. Grandma did everything with the girls!!! They did story time at the library, park days, Chuck E. Cheese (twice), swiming, movie nights and much more!! Grandma you are awesome!!!

Sarah has fun riding with Chuck E. Cheese

riding the ABC car
Grandma said that the first time she took the girls to Chuck E. Cheese all Sarah wanted to do was drive the ABC car and sing a long with it!!!

Yummy
Grandma gave the girls fudge bars, Sarah’s face just cracks me up. Grandma said it was VERY messy but they loved it!!!

Second round of Fun!
No the girls did not have a clothing change, they just had to go play at Chuck E. Cheese AGAIN another day!! Now that is a wonderful Grandma, I am not willing to go there one time let alone twice.

Beautiful girls!!

dress up fun
Thanks so much grandma for taking such good care of our little girls!! They did so well and didn’t even miss Josh and I while we were gone.
Sarah was only 9months old the last time we had a professional family picture. I don’t really like being in the pictures but feel it is important to have a good family picture as often as possible. It was a crazy day with pictures, Sarah decided that she was going to be a silly girl and only glare at the photographer which made pictures a little more difficult.

Swimming is one of the best parts of summer. My girls love to swim in the pool or play in the sprinkler!! (but they are both afraid of the water) We had gone swimming with our friends the Jones several times but I never had my camera with me and not sure how I would have taken pictures since I had Sarah in my arms the entire time. Rachel likes the big pools but I prefer the baby pools and sprinklers because then I can sit by and just watch!!
Rachel and Sarah had a lot of fun playing down the street with their friends JJ and Jason. Jason had the smallest pool I have ever seen but it was just perfect for Jason and Sarah and the big kids were suppose to play in the sprinkler. All the kids had a blast but Rachel and JJ had a hard time leaving the baby pool alone, it just looked like too much fun. We are going to miss JJ, Jason and their family when they move to Baltimore is just a few weeks, it is always so nice to have friends live close by. We are trying not to dwell on the fact they are leaving but try to spend some time with them before they go!!!

I have always known that I have an amazing husband but it is great to know that he is just COMPLETELY AMAZING!!! I am so grateful to have such a loving husband and such an amazing father for my children!!! How did I get so lucky??? You can tell that Josh is a great dad because his children adore him. Sarah asks for him every morning and jumps in his arms when he gets home from work. I just know I am one lucky lady!!
Rachel had a lot of fun preparing for father’s day. She loves to make cards, decorate, and help plan anything and everything. She is very helpful and wants you to know that she loves you and tries to make you feel loved and special!! Rachel wanted to make breakfast for dad so the night before she picked out muffins that she wanted to make, she had all intentions of making them but didn’t wake up until they were about to come out of the oven. I didn’t want to wake her and she didn’t care because they were ready and she could eat them. I still think it is the thought that counts, she wanted to make sure daddy got a special breakfast and she picked out what she wanted to make him. We had three meals planned to make but I got out of fixing lunch because one of our friends invited us over for lunch. It was a nice time visiting with friends. I made Josh fried Chicken for dinner, I am not a huge fan of fried chicken but Josh’s mom makes the best fried chicken I have ever had so I made her chicken for Josh and then we had an ice cream cake for dessert. It was a wonderful day of being together as a family and letting Daddy know how special he is!!

Big Hug
I think that Josh had a pretty good day. It was filled with food, friends, family, and watching golf. I don’t think you could ask for a better day!!
Rachel had her first set of Tennis lessons. She had two weeks of lessons and had lots of fun. She learned how to handle a racket and hit the ball. Of course, she still has tons more to learn and she will have an opportunity to learn more when she takes her second set of lessons in July!!!

We had so much fun the first time we saw Mr. Stinky feet that we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to go and see him again over in the east mountains. So we met my friend Tania and her daughter Gina at their library and had a fun afternoon of crazy songs and dancing!!! I am grateful to the library for the fun activities they provide for my children!!!

I love how Rachel’s mind works sometimes. She is just so fun and very creative. She saw something on tv one day (I’m not sure what was on the commercial) and came running in to me and told me she wanted to make a yogurtsicle. So we took a small kids yogurt, stuck a popsicle stick in the top and stuck it into the freezer. Rachel just thought this was the coolest treat ever, which is wonderfl since it is good for you too!! I still prefer ice cream but Rachel would eat a yogurt-sicle everyday if we had one frozen in the freezer!

Jim Cosgrove aka Mr. Stinky Feet
Our library really is awesome!! They invited Mr. Stinky Feet to come and sing songs to the kids on Friday. For those of you who don’t know Mr. Stinky Feet, you are missing out. He has several kids cds that are filled with funny songs about everything you could think of. Mr. Stinky Feet lives in Kansas City but use to live in ABQ so he comes down here every summer and does a tour to various libraries in town, this is his 10th year doing the library tours here in ABQ. Last year I took the girls to see him and Rachel just loved him!! She walked around for days afterwards singing his songs so we couldn’t miss our opportunity to see him this year.

Hanging with friends watching the show
So the best part about seeing him this year is that a lot of Rachel’s friends from church were there and so she got to hang out with friends and enjoy the show!!
We were fortunate enough to be at our local library when Radio Disney came to support the summer reading program. I had promised the girls that we would go to the library that day for storytime, but we were running too late for storytime so we went to the library an hour later we were pleasantly surprised. As we pulled into the parking lot you could see the van and Sarah started to shout ‘mickey ears car, mickey ears car’. She was very excited.
So we found the display and they had all kinds of cool stuff to hand out to the girls. Once the program started, they had games with prizes and so much more. Rachel was really excited that she got a Jonas brothers guitar pic necklace for participating in a hula hoop contest. She had a blast. They had three ‘road crew’ there that danced for the kids and taught the kids some dances from High School Musical and Hannah Montana. Rachel loved this part and got to meet a guy that was actually in the HSM 3 movie. We had a great time and got lots of goodies for going and participating. We love our library and all the cool things they do for the kids!!
We had the pleasure of having a visit from my grandparents. They stopped by on their way back home from Phoenix. My girls just love spending time with them. Rachel just loved her Great Grandpa Swigart, he is just a big kid!! Sarah liked him but was a little cautious with him because he would jump up really fast and chase Rachel, so Sarah kept on her toes!! After dinner Rachel wanted to play with Grandpa some more and have him try to get her but I thought they played that game enough before dinner and recommended playing a game. So Rachel and Grandpa played bowling on the Wii which was lots of fun to watch. Afterwards, Josh and Grandpa played golf on the Wii and Josh actually beat grandpa which will be the only time that Grandpa loses to Josh in golf.

Rachel and Grandpa playing Wii

Sarah and Grandpa
Rachel had so much fun. After playing Wii they played Go Fish together for the rest of the evening. Grandpa was so patient and made Rachel’s night. She did great and would just start giggling uncontrollably when she won. Thanks Grandpa for playing with my girls and making them feel loved and special, it was a wonderful visit!!
