In my attempt to let Sarah have fun while Rachel is away learning I took her to the zoo (twice in one week) with my friend Tania and her two little girls. I love doing anything with Tania, she is an amazing friend and Sarah and Gina have so much fun together. They are just so cute!!

Rachel’s Soccer team had an end of the year party at one of our local pizza places. It was a fun season and the girls just loved each other so much. Rachel just loves Soccer!!

Look at that smile. Sarah was so jealous of Rachel’s trophy and wanted her picture taken with it too. Rachel was a good sport and let Sarah share in her spot light!!
Explora is such a fun place to go so when the weather isn’t great it is fun to head inside and let Sarah play and use her imagination. I took Sarah there twice in about two weeks, which is an accomplishment for me. I always felt like I was betraying Rachel when I took Sarah to awesome fun places while she was in school. So of course that meant that poor Sarah never got to go anywhere. I decided (with the help of my friends) that poor Sarah needed to experience fun stuff too and that Rachel would just have to get over it. It has taken Rachel a while but she has finally accepted that Sarah should get to do fun stuff too.

BUBBLES!!!

playing in water
This day Sarah would not leave this station. She had so much fun opening gates and watching water levels rise and drop. It was so funny to watch her play with the same stuff for about 15 minutes straight.

Rachel actually hated being catcher but she sure did look cute in all the gear!

Rachel and Kirra
Rachel and Kirra are special friends, I sure do love both those girls!! They are just TOO CUTE!!

Pierce and Rachel
Rachel had two friends play Tee Ball this season, Kirra and Pierce, but they were all three on different teams. It was fun to play against them!! Rachel made several new friends on her team this year so it was OK that she didn’t end up on the same team as her friends, maybe next year.
The girls had so much fun searching for all the treasures that the Easter Bunny brought. I love the look on their faces of pure joy!! It is good to believe!!! Well except that Sarah think that the Easter Bunny brakes into your house and steals your stuff. I guess she got this idea when she woke up and saw the empty egg cartons that the night before held their beautiful egg creations. But for about a month after Easter every time something was missing Sarah would reply “I thinks the Easter Bunny took it”. We tried and tried to explain to her that the bunny didn’t take the eggs he just hid them so she would have fun finding them but still she believes that if something is missing it must be that blasted bunny!

The Easter bunny spoiled my girls this year. He brought them each presents that ‘mom’ said she wouldn’t buy but something the girls would really want.

Sarah REALLY liked Peeps

Enjoying her yummy treats!!!
Rachel loves Easter time because we have several decorations to put up and the best part is she gets to dye eggs. I know I should be better about down playing the Easter bunny but why deprive your child of the joys of childhood. We still try really hard to focus on Christ’s Resurrection too but to no surprise that is not the part my children get excited about.

Dad even got in on the fun!
Rachel really did have a fun time playing t-ball this year. She did a great job but definitely has a lot of her mom in her. She would flinch and close her eyes every time they threw the ball at her. She told me one day “I don’t mind when they hit the ball off the tee to me but I don’t like it when they pick it up and throw it at me”. She did get A LOT better as the season when on. The best part was that she loved playing and wants to play again next year.

The La Cueva Easter Egg Hunt is a highlight of the Easter season. My girls love running around collecting candy filled eggs. Ok they really just want all the candy and will do anything to get it!!
This was the first year that Rachel didn’t get to participate. They planned the hunt for when all the kids were in school because last year there were just too many kids when you let the old kids do it to. This was so much more peaceful and enjoyable, even though Rachel was pretty upset. But Sarah shared all the candy she wouldn’t eat with Rachel and guess what, Rach was no longer sad!

Rachel played T-ball for Eastdale Little League this spring and had a blast. They are a fun league and over all it was a wonderful experience. They have an Opening Ceremony to start the season off and Rachel’s team got to walk in the front of the ‘parade’ and carry the banner around the fields.
And yes, Rachel really was a head taller than almost everyone on her team. There were a couple of kids closer to her in size but she was the tallest on the team, and one of the older kids which is a new experience for Rachel. She is use to being the youngest in everything.

playing store in grandma's basement
One of my girls favorite things to do at Grandma Zymball’s house is to play store in the basement. Rachel loves to be on one side of the counter and charge you money (at least it is pretend money) to buy ‘food’. Sarah got in on the fun this trip and really enjoyed playing store and both girls would try to convince every person that walked into Grandma’s house to come visit their store.

Feeding the fish
My girls love to come to the lake and feed the fish with Grandma Zymball and their cousins. Grandma is awesome and always finds time to take the girls here to see the crazy fish, oh yeah and also Chuck E. Cheese. My girls are just so spoiled.

Sarah stomping in the snow with Grandma
Of course coming to Missouri in March can be a risky trip, it snowed over a foot of snow the day before we were suppose to leave and drive back home. My girls didn’t know what to do with all of that snow, we went out to play and build a snowman at 9am when there was only about 5 inches of snow on the ground, but it never stopped snowing all day long. The snow did delay our trip home by half a day but it all worked out in the end. The girls enjoyed the extra time with grandma and enjoyed the snow. Snow in Missouri is A LOT different than snow in New Mexico, in Missouri you get more, it lasts a lot longer and when you go play in the snow it is actually COLD. So the girls had fun playing in the snow but loved coming inside and having hot chocolate and snuggling with grandma afterwards the most!!
